Episode two - Colour with Christopher Saliba
In episode two of Artist Secrets, Allura joins Christopher as he paints one of his favourite views, the parish church of Nadur, where he lives.
“The concept is commendable” says Christopher, “these open studio programmes are popular on an international basis. It’s a great idea because people can familiarise themselves with artists and understand better their sources of inspiration and creative drives.”
“Filming was fun and the Allura team made me feel at ease in front of the cameras.”
Christopher, an art teacher himself, describes his episode as “visually rich” and “an effective educational feature.”
Each episode of Artist Secrets follows the making of a new and previously unseen piece of original art as it is produced on camera especially for the series.
For more information about the Artist Secrets series, read Allura’s blog post about the launch or the article in the Sunday Times of Malta.
Episode three
The broadcast date for Episode three will be announced shortly after episode two airs, on the Allura Art blog, through the mailing list and on the Allura Facebook page.
Open Studios
Artists Secrets is part of the broader Allura Open Art Studio Programme. The ‘open studio’ format is popular all over the world as a way to connect artists with their audiences in a way that is less formal than a gallery and all the more relaxed and meaningful as a result.
Don’t forget to look out for episode three!
