Can’t find the words?

It’s traditional on special occasions to give our loved-ones flowers, and you’ll find these in abundance in the Allura Art Collection. But in addition to floral subject-matter, we’ve picked out some still-lifes and landscapes which encapsulate the passion and romance of St. Valentine’s Day.

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene…

Verona Dusk by Andrew Borg

Verona Dusk by Andrew Borg

In his twilight rooftop vista Verona Dusk, Maltese painter Andrew Borg depicts the illuminated and meandering streets of the northern-Italian town of Verona. Shakespeare’s chosen setting for Romeo and Juliet, ‘Fair Verona’ will forever be known as the beguiling backdrop for the most celebrated and tragic love-story in the history of theatre.

Marsalforn Valley, Gozo by Christopher Saliba

Marsalforn Valley, Gozo is a fiery landscape dominated by the artist’s favourite colour - red.

In his signature style, Gozitan painter Christopher Saliba applies vivid colours to textured canvas to convey the sweltering heat of the Mediterranean sun as it gently bakes the landscape.
