For over twenty years, Caroline Said Lawrence has painted the vibrant colours and rich cultural heritage of Malta, her island home. Beginning her artistic journey at a young age, she honed her skills at St. Martin’s School of Art in London and has since established herself as a key figure in Maltese contemporary art.

Caroline's canvases are characterised by bold brushstrokes, expressive lines and a harmonious blend of abstract and figurative elements. She masterfully captures the essence of her subjects, often portraying local scenes, intimate portraits and urban landscapes, reminiscent of Esprit Barthet's iconic ‘rooftops’ series. Her works exude a sense of warmth and authenticity, skillfully conveying the shimmering Mediterranean sun and dazzling limestone architecture in imagery brimming with light, energy and colour.

Through her art, Caroline invites viewers to connect with the soul of Malta, its people, and its traditions.
