During a visit to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, one can easily forget that this is a moderately large and active harbour with a dry dock and active fishing. Marsaxlokk Drydock, Malta was painted en plein air early in the morning, when the fishermen return with their catch from the sea. Its main subject is the dry dock, which regularly berths the larger fishing vessels during periods of maintenance.
