In series two of Artist Secrets, Allura invites you for a rare and exclusive look behind the scenes with some of Malta’s most exciting contemporary artists, as we reveal their creative secrets and the materials and techniques they use to create their work. Each episode follows the making of a new and previously unseen piece of original art as it is brought to life.
Last chance to see show as extra paintings arrive
Art at the Corinthia Palace, the contemporary fine art collective featuring Allura Art artists, was originally due to end on January 8, but following great feedback from visitors and hotel guests, Allura was invited to extend until January 31.
Now, with less than a week left before the show ends, it’s the final opportunity to see the artwork in the flesh.
In this blog post we share some of the extra paintings which were hung as replacements for those which have been sold during the exhibition. So if you have visited the show, you may not have seen this new work.

Allura Art’s fine art collective featuring 13 Allura artists has been extended until the end of January!
Still plenty of time to visit the Corinthia Palace Hotel’s foyer to see 40 exhibited artworks in various styles, mediums and genres.
Video - Open call for young visual artists
Allura is proud to have been a partner in the Sovereign Art Foundation Student Prize for Malta and Gozo 2023 since it was first established 2017.
We are happy to share this year’s Open Call Video for young artists. The video features previous prize-winner, local student Ylenia Schembri, in an interview with Allura’s Laura Swale, one of the judges in the competition.
Allura is proud to have been a partner in the Sovereign Art Foundation Student Prize for Malta and Gozo 2023 since it was first established 2017. The Sovereign Art Foundation is a global charity which runs similar art prizes in many other countries.
In this blog post we fill you in on the prizes and how to enter, as we share this year’s Open Call Video. Talented local students can win hundreds of euros for themselves, and even more for their school’s art department, but they’ll need to be quick, because the deadline is January 20.

The exhibition presents around 40 recent paintings by some of the most well-respected and accomplished artists currently living and practising in Malta and Gozo. It will include both figurative and abstract pieces, as well as new and previously unseen work. Some of the artwork falls into the landscape genre, while some is more conceptual. Subject-matter ranges from the natural and built environment to the human experience and imagination.
Infinitely versatile, abstract art has become a mainstay of the interior design world, perpetually trending on creative and lifestyle websites, as it evolves symbiotically with the ebb and flow of fashion and design trends.
We explore abstract art, what makes a good piece and how it can transform a room, as we introduce some of the most recent abstracts to be added to the Allura Art Collection.
