On one of the artist’s usual walks, she was very much inspired by the view in front of her. She was witnessing a particular liminal space, where the village of Mgarr was transitioning from day into night. The sun has just set and the street lights were coming on. The chaos of the day was making way for a more peaceful and serene atmosphere. This work was painted in a very direct alla prima manner.
