Senglea was given the title Cittá Invicta (‘Unconquered City’) because it managed to resist the Ottoman invasion during the Greta Siege of Malta in 1565. Looking across the bay and down the narrow streets of this fortified city it becomes apparent how small and densely populated this part of Malta is.
